TEHRAN (IQNA) – God’s biggest mercy and blessing to humans is that He will never leave them alone along the path and it is because God has made mercy obligatory for Himself.

Divine mercy

We read in Verse 12 of Surah Al-Ana’am: “Say: To whom belongs what is in the heavens and the earth? Say: To Allah; He has ordained mercy on Himself; most certainly He will gather you on the Resurrection Day-- there is no doubt about it. (As for) those who have lost their souls, they will not believe.”

According to this verse, God has made mercy obligatory for Himself and because His Dhat (essence) is the bass of existence of all beings, His mercy is also everywhere.

But God’s main mercy is not the blessings that people have or seek in this world. Of course such blessings as the eyes, and ears and intelligence and beauty of the mind and body, etc are all precious, but God’s main mercy to humans is that He will not leave them alone in the middle of the path but gathers them together in a hall as large as infinity in the hereafter.

It is this divine promise that gives happiness to hearts and creates thousands of good things. Without this mercy, all other mercies would lose their value because the passage of time destroys them.

In such a loss are those who do not believe in such a day and deprive themselves of the blessings of this good news that is the cause of growth, perfection, happiness and salvation in this world and the next.

An important point in this verse is that people can also ordain mercy on themselves, that is to say, they can become a source of blessing to others and serving others not just repeating a sacred name and then caring about their own desires and wants. The true manifestation of the phrase Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim (In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful) is the manifestation of mercy and kindness in the essence of the person who utters it.

When someone begins everything with the utterance and remembrance of Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim, he should try to make whatever he does a mercy and blessing for others. If he speaks a word, it should help others to grow, if he writes a book, it should be beneficial for people, and if he works in any profession, his main concern should be helping people and resolving their problems.
